PORT TOWNSEND — The 73rd Rhododendron Festival Grand Parade was exactly as organizers had imagined it — big and busy.
Thousands swarmed uptown and downtown to watch the annual march from Lawrence to Water streets.
“This is going great,” said Rita Hubbard, one of the parade organizers, while handing out awards to floats passing-by. “It’s just been great.”
The parade boosted more than 100 entries, with floats, bands, drill teams, car clubs, horse clubs, peace activists and local politicians.
