State Attorney General and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Christine Gregoire visits Port Angeles at 9 a.m. today.
She will tour Westport Shipyard’s yacht manufacturing plant on Marine Drive.
Gregoire hopes to become the state’s second woman governor. But first she has to beat her rival, King County Executive Ron Sims, on the Democratic Party ballot in the Sept. 14 primary.
On Thursday morning, U.S. Sen. Patty Murray visits the city’s downtown waterfront to tour the site for the new Port Angeles International Gateway Center.
Murray, D-Shoreline, is seeking re-election. She was instrumental in getting federal money to help fund the Gateway project.
Later on Thursday, Murray will be a speaker at a Jefferson County maritime industry roundtable in Port Townsend.
