Jefferson County Sheriff Mike Brasfield of Port Ludlow has been reappointed by Gov. Christine Gregoire to the state Sentencing Guidelines Commission for a year’s term.
Brasfield will continue to be the only law enforcement representative on the panel, which evaluates and monitors adult and juvenile sentencing policies and practices and recommends modifications to the governor and Legislature.
The Sentencing Guidelines Commission consists of 20 voting members, 16 of whom are appointed by the governor, including judges, prosecutors, elected county and city officials and four citizens.
State officials, including the secretary of corrections, also are members.
