Port Townsend city officials will break ground Wednesday to kick off the Port Townsend Historic City Hall Restoration and Annex Addition Project.
The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. behind the City Hall building, 540 Water St., to mark the beginning of the $5.4 million project to restore the 112-year-old City Hall and build the annex structure.
City officials estimate that construction will last at least a year.
They are in the process of raising $750,000 needed to complete the project.
The public is invited to the ceremony.
