PORT ANGELES — A man who believes every dog should have a place to run, play and socialize with other dogs is leading a campaign to develop a dog park in the city.
Resident Andrew Gach moved here about a year ago and immediately noticed the lack of a dog park.
“I have always had a dog and have enjoyed taking my dogs to dog parks,” he said. “It gives them a chance to run free and be with other dogs.”
Gach said a park specifically designated for dogs would give owners a way to exercise their pets on and off leashes in a safe environment.
“There is really no good, safe place to let your dog run,” he said. “I think a dog park would be a nice contribution for the entire community.”
Gach and other supporters have formed the Port Angeles Dog Park Committee.
