PORT TOWNSEND — For the November Candlelight Concert at Trinity United Methodist Church, two ensembles will join voices and bells for the first time: the nine-member Wild Rose Chorale and Port Townsend’s Handbell Choir.
Their performance, called “Ring and Sing,” will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, and feature Broadway show tunes such as “Razzle Dazzle” from “Chicago,” “Old Man River” from “Show Boat” and “Send in the Clowns” from “A Little Night Music.”
The 10-member Handbell Choir will stir in a Russian dance with shakes and mallets, a special arrangement of the English ballad “Scarborough Fair” and the spiritual “Kum Ba Yah” with the Wild Rose Chorale.
Then there will be a medley of selections from “The Phantom of the Opera.”
Admission to the Candlelight Concert is a suggested donation of $10 for adults, while children are invited to come free.
Doors will open half an hour before the music starts, and refreshments will be served afterward at Trinity United, 609 Taylor St. uptown.
Proceeds from this concert series benefit Port Townsend charitable organizations and Trinity’s music and historic Victorian restoration programs.
