SEQUIM — Plans have been approved and permits issued for the construction of a Jack in the Box restaurant.
The final approval came from the Sequim Planning Department last month.
The new fast-food location will be in front of Wal-Mart near the roundabout intersection of West Washington Avenue and River Road.
It will be another in the list of chain restaurants opening locations in Sequim.
An Applebee’s restaurant is now under construction on River Road near the U.S. 101 interchange, and a Taco Time location is slated to go next to it.
A representative of Jack in the Box did not return a phone call seeking comment Wednesday. Advertisements for a management team have already appeared.
The company started as a single restaurant in San Diego in 1951. Now there are more than 2,000 Jack in the Boxes in 17 states, including one in Port Angeles.
The company also owns Qdoba Mexican Grill, which has locations in 31 states, as well as a chain of Quick Stuff convenience stores.
