PORT ANGELES — Athletes 50 years old and older will compete in track and field, kayaking, pickleball, tennis and bowling contests today.
It’s the second day of the Port Angeles Senior Games, and competitions are planned from 8 a.m. to noon.
Check-in will be at 7 a.m. at the Port Angeles Senior Center at 328 E. Seventh St.
Track and field events will be at the Crescent High School in Joyce.
Free shuttles will take athletes to the school 16 miles west of Port Angeles on state Highway 112.
About 243 people were expected to compete in the games, which began on Saturday.
Opening the ceremonies on Friday was a torch run, with Capt. Bill Larson, former master of the tall ship Lady Washington, lighting the flame and Deputy Mayor Betsy Wharton carrying it to the senior center.
