PORT ANGELES — Commuter traffic on U.S. Highway 101 backed up Monday morning after a pickup truck collided head-on with a semi-trailer along the Morse Creek curve.
The Washington State Patrol reported that a pickup truck driven by James J. Barnett, 42, of Port Angeles was eastbound on icy U.S. 101 at the Morse Creek bridge at about 7:50 a.m. Monday when it crossed the centerline.
The pickup collided with a westbound 2000 Freightliner semi-trailer driven by William R. Bradow, 33, also of Port Angeles, the State Patrol reported
Barnett was taken to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles where he was listed in stable condition Monday night. Bradow was not injured.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
