NEAH BAY — A Neah Bay man was treated and discharged from Harborview Medical Center in Seattle following a wreck on state Highway 112 Friday evening.
Jason A. Wilbur, 39, was airlifted to the hospital after the wreck 4 miles east of Neah Bay, which the State Patrol said occurred around 6:30 p.m.
The State Patrol said Wilbur was westbound on Highway 112 and a second vehicle, driven by Dewey E. McGee, 61, of Neah Bay, was headed east.
Wilbur attempted to make an illegal pass in a no-passing zone around a blind curve, said the State Patrol. As McGee’s vehicle came around the curve in the opposite direction, it struck Wilbur head-on.
Both vehicles came to rest in the roadway. The two lanes of Highway 112 were blocked for three hours and 42 minutes.
McGee was transported to the Neah Bay health clinic with unknown injuries. His condition is unknown.
The State Patrol said the use of drugs or alcohol was involved in the wreck.
The patrol expects to file charges of DUI/driving while license suspended against Wilbur. Charges of driving while license suspended are also expected against McGee.
