PORT ANGELES — Executive director of Healthy Families of Clallam County Becca Kirby recently accepted a donation check of $2,443.98 from Stephen Fofanoff at the Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce luncheon at the Red Lion Hotel.
The check represents the tips donated by customers at Jig and Lure Fish Co. Restaurant during the month of June and a matching gift from Art and Soul Hospitality LLC, which owns the restaurant.
More than $6,000 has been raised for local charities, including the Boys and Girls Club, Captain Joseph House and Healthy Families of Clallam County.
Jig and Lure Fish Co. Restaurant, 826 Boat Haven Drive, is a “no tip” establishment representing a growing trend in the United States by restaurateurs to provide living wages to their employees instead of the traditional minimum wage.
The designated charity for July 2016 is Clallam Mosaic which provides support services for developmentally disabled children and adults in Clallam County.
