PORT TOWNSEND — The meeting was moved to the high school gymnasium, but only about 20 people turned out to the City Council’s noise ordinance hearing Monday night.
A dozen people testified before the council at the meeting, which city officials thought might have had more interest in new regulations designed to keep the peace and quiet.
Only one person in the audience was against the ordinance.
Even so, the ordinance isn’t exactly what everybody wanted.
Councilwoman Michelle Sandoval said getting the law to the public hearing level was a long process that sought to please as many people as possible.
Two main aspects of the ordinance were hotly debated: the Port of Port Townsend boat yard and musicians.
