Hearty souls take a polar dip

The 23rd annual Polar Bear Dip was held at Hollywood Beach in Port Angeles this morning under clear blue skies with the air temperature near 25 degrees..

The water temperature perhaps 15 to 20 degrees warmer.

Between 70 to 80 brave souls ushered in the new year by rushing into the water three times. The certificate each participant received bore the words: “The Ice Age is not over!”
