Granted, it’s more than 10 months away. But next year’s Nov. 4 general election is building into a political feast of major proportions, with high voter turnout predicted across the North Olympic Peninsula.
Election officials in Clallam and Jefferson counties said last week that voters have expressed tremendous interest in the race.
It’s the first presidential race in 80 years that doesn’t include a sitting president or vice president mixing it up on the campaign trail.
Also up for election: every elected statewide office, from governor on down, along with every position in the state House of Representatives.
There’s more.
Pile on several high-profile races in Clallam and Jefferson counties, and the cry issues forth:
Get me another plate!
And the menu doesn’t even include statewide voter initiatives.
The deadline isn’t until July 3 for filing petition signatures for those measures.
