GARDINER — The state Department of Transportation announced that both lanes of U.S. Highway 101 at Eagle Creek reopened to vehicular traffic on Friday afternoon.
The road had been diverted to a single-lane bypass route since Sunday to allow for the replacement of a culvert with a much larger culvert to improve fish passage.
The detour route for pedestrians and bicyclists, which runs on the Olympic Discovery Trail, will will remain in place until a permanent guardrail is installed, according to a DOT press release.
Any further lane closures at the work site will be at night, DOT said.
