SHINE — The Hood Canal Bridge is now open as winds have decreased, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The Hood Canal Bridge was closed in both directions until further notice because of high winds pushing directly into the span, which was opened to relieve pressure on the bridge.
The bridge was closed at 10:19 a.m. Tuesday, the state Department of Transportation said.
Crews were standing by to reopen the bridge as soon as the winds decreased. No estimated time was given for reopening.
