Meetings across Clallam, Jeffersom counties

Governmental entities plan public meetings next week on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will consider agreements to disburse a total of $300,000 in rapid re-housing funds to six local nonprofits in their weekly work session Monday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Monday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Agenda items include:

• reallocation of $55,000 to purchase a van for the syringe services program.

• Acceptance of the transfer of Clallam Bay State Park to county parks.

• An agreement with the Port of Port Angeles to use a portion of Airport Road to stage demolition derby cares and support vehicles during the county fair.

• Agreements for the preliminary engineering phases of painting the Solduc River and Weel bridges.

• Consider budget revisions, including debatable emergencies, totalling $1,080,709.

• A public hearing to consider repeal of chapter 7.08 Massage Parlors — Public Bath Houses from the county code.

The three Jefferson County commissioners will consider an agreement in pending opioid litigation when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

The commissioners will hear an update on COVID-19 and Monkeypox from Dr. Allison Berry, health officer for Jefferson and Clallam counites, at 9:45 a.m., a briefing on an application for a Connecting Housing to Infrastructure Program grant, an update on the Olympic Discovery Trail and a workshop on the Evans Vista neighborhood project.

Items on the consent agenda include an amended agreement with the Administrative Office of the Courts to provide additional funding of $148,684 for Blake decision reimbursements, an amended agreement with Gateway to Freedom for an additional $7,485 for substance use disorder evaluation services, an amended agreement with the Department of Health for an additional $1,433,000 of funding for Public Health, an agreement with Adrienne Maxwell for $52,143 for remote registered dietitian services, an agreement with Andrea Knutson for $23,400 for mental health counseling, an agreement with Environmental Science Associates for $74,414 for the Shoreline Sea Level Rise study and report, an agreement with Sargent Engineers Inc. for the Little Quilcene River bridge replacement project, a lease agreement with Pacific Mobile Structures for $3,041.72 per month for a portable road crew shop in Port Hadlock and an additional $6,339.57 for a change order on the JUMP! playground at H.J. Carroll Park.

Assoc. of counties

The Washington State Association of Counties will hear a weekly update on COVID-19 when they meet at noon Monday.

Both Clallam and Jefferson counties will participate.

The association will also discuss current and emerging issues facing counties across the state.

Collaborative group

The Intergovernmental Collaborative Group will discuss topics introduced by Housing Solutions Network and Port Townsend city staff when they meet at 5 p.m. Thursday.

The group is composed of members of four entities: Jefferson County Commission, Port Townsend City Council, the Port of Port Townsend and Jefferson County Public Utility District.

The group will meet under the tent at 2135 San Juan Ave., Port Townsend.
