OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK – Hurricane Ridge Road was closed just before noon on Tuesday when weather conditions made for precarious driving conditions.
About 3 inches of fresh snow fell Monday night, and at least 3 more were expected throughout the day, according to an automated weather and road condition update at Olympic National Park.
Blowing snow and fog caused the road closure.
About 88 inches of snow have built up on Hurricane Ridge so far this season, according to the recording.
The road is typically open Fridays through Sundays from 9 a.m. to dusk, weather permitting.
