Independence Week schedule in Forks

Here’s the schedule for the Forks Old Fashioned Fourth of July festival, which begins Saturday and continues through the following Friday.

Demolition Derby tickets and Fourth of July buttons can be purchased at the Forks Youth League fireworks stand and Fourth of July information booth at the corner of Main Street and Bogachiel Way.

Saturday

■ Fourth of July Fun Run — Registration begins at 8 a.m. in the parking lot across from the Forks Coffee Shop, 241 S. Forks Ave., with the race beginning at 9 a.m.

The cost is $25 with a shirt or $10 without a shirt. To preregister, phone 360-640-0538 or 360-640-2057.

■ Horseshoe Tournament — Registration at 8:30 a.m. at Tillicum Park. The contest will begin at 9 a.m.

■ City Slickers vs. Forks Outfitters Tournament Fundraiser — 3 p.m., Tillicum Ballfields.

■ Frog jump — 5 p.m., Tillicum Park.

■ Cribbage tournament — 6 p.m., VFW Hall, 110 S. Spartan Ave.

■ Downtown Forks window-decorations viewing — All day. Sponsored by the West End Business and Professional Association.

Sunday

■ Bean Bag Toss — Registration at 8 a.m. at Tillicum Park, with the tournament starting at 9 a.m. The cost is $30.

■ Kiddies Play Day — Noon to 2 p.m., Tillicum Park. Sponsored by the Forks Lions Club.

■ Far West Arts League Arts & Crafts Show — Noon to 4 p.m., DNR center, 411 Tillicum Lane.

Monday

■ Far West Arts League Arts & Crafts Show — Noon to 4 p.m., DNR center.

■ Downtown Forks window-decorations viewing — All day. Sponsored by the West End Business and Professional Association.

Wednesday

■ Check-in for Grand Parade — 8 a.m., Forks Transit Center parking lot, 551 S. Forks Ave.

■ Elks breakfast — 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., Forks Elks Lodge, 941 Merchant Road.

■ Far West Arts League Arts & Crafts Show — 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., DNR center.

■ Final entries for Grand Parade accepted — 10 a.m., Forks Transit Center parking lot.

■ Parade judging — 10:30 a.m., Forks Transit Center parking lot.

■ Kiddies Parade — 11 a.m. check-in at the Bank of America parking lot, with the parade — sponsored by the Forks Emblem Club — starting at 11:45 a.m.

■ Grand Parade — Noon, Forks Transit Center parking lot.

■ Forks Lions Club Salmon Bake — 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Tillicum Park.

■ Demolition Derby — Gates open at 2 p.m., with the derby starting at 3 p.m. in the Tillicum Park arena. Tickets are $8.

■ Quilt Raffle — 4 p.m., Forks Visitor Information Center. Benefits the American Hero Quilts. Tickets are $1 and are available at the information center and Chinook Pharmacy.

■ Music in the Park — 6:30 p.m. to dusk, Tillicum Park.

■ Fireworks — Dusk, Tillicum Park.

Thursday

■ Downtown Forks window-decorations viewing — All day. Sponsored by the West End Business and Professional Association.

Friday, July 6

■ Moonlight Madness late-night shopping in downtown Forks — 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sponsored by the West End Business and Professional Association.
