Information on Level III sex offenders in Clallam County can be accessed at www.clallam.net/sheriff and in Jefferson County at www.co.jefferson.wa.us/sheriff/sexoffenders.htm.
Registered sex offenders live in almost every community on the North Olympic Peninsula.
They cross all social strata, from “very affluent” to “dirt poor,” said Clint Aldrich, a community corrections officer with the state Department of Corrections office in Port Hadlock.
Sex offenders are classified on their risk to commit another sex crime, with Level III as high risk, Level II as moderate risk and Level I as low risk.
Level I figures also reflect offenders who are unclassified because they pose the lowest-level threat.
