Initial autopsy report: Officer, homeowner died by single gunshot wounds

PORT ANGELES — Both U.S. Forest Service Officer Kristine Fairbanks and retiree Richard Ziegler died of single gunshot wounds, said Deb Kelly, Clallam County prosecuting attorney who also acts as county coroner.

Autopsies on Fairbanks, Ziegler and Shawn Roe, who is believed to have killed both on Saturday, were completed late Monday, she said.

She will issue a fuller statement after she receives a written report, she said on Wednesday.
