PORT HADLOCK — The Inn at Port Hadlock has been closed for nonpayment of state business taxes.
The state Department of Revenue posted an order at noon Thursday on the entrance doors revoking the certificate of registration for the M Suki Co., LLC.
“It’s effectively a closed business,” said Eric Jones, spokesman for the state Department of Revenue, today.
Owner Suki James, who also owns the Dunes Motel in Bremerton, said she did not know how many employees lost their jobs at the inn, or how many customers had to leave on Thursday.
“We got behind on the taxes,” she said today.
“We’re working on it and we want to reopen again.”
Four tax liens have been filed in Jefferson County Superior Court since October, Jones said.
The face value of the liens — which does not include any payments the company may have made — is $152,208.
