PORT TOWNSEND — An Thanksgiving service involving a variety of religious traditions that was originally scheduled tonight at the Northwest Maritime Center has been canceled.
“An Interfaith Thanksgiving: A Weaving of Community Gratitude” was scheduled to start at 7 p.m. at the maritime center at 431 Water St., in Port Townsend
Donations of canned food for the Port Townsend Food Bank or monetary contributions to the Jefferson County winter shelter were to be requested.
A new date will be announced, said rabbinic pastor candidate Stephanie Reith, who is one of the organizers.
Those participating include the Peninsula United Church of Christ, Unity Church, the Medicine Wheel Rainbow Tribe, Grace Lutheran Church, a Meher Baba devotee, the local Jewish community, the local Baha’i community, Zen Buddhists, pagans and Quakers.
