SEQUIM — Sequim toastmaster Lindy MacLaine will compete in the semifinal round of the Toastmasters International Speech Contest on Monday, Aug. 24.
MacLaine, a past president of the SKWIM Toastmasters Club, is one of 28 semifinalists in the international competition, which is being held online this year.
Contestants will present a five- to seven-minute speech, which will be judged on content, organization, impact on the audience, gestures and style.
The top eight semifinalists will compete in the 2020 World Championship of Public Speaking on Aug. 29.
