PORT ANGELES — The Ohio Northern University National Tour Choir is in Port Angeles to offer music from Africa, Norway, Ireland, Japan and Brazil in a public concert at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church tonight.
Admission to the 7:30 p.m. performance is by donation.
Among the songs on the program: “She Moved through the Fair” arranged by Tim Takach; a setting of the Japanese haiku text “Kono michi Ya, Iku Nashi Ni”; and “Tres Cantos,” three melodies from the Kurao forest tribe of northern Brazil.
American music will include Gershwin’s “Summertime” and “Is There Anybody Here from Out of Town,” a double chorus piece in the barbershop style.
