PORT ANGELES — The North Olympic Peninsula is teeming with creative minds, Jacques Dulin, a patent attorney, told the Port Angeles Business Association on Tuesday morning.
Innovation is especially important during economic downturns, said Dulin, who practices at Innovation Law in Sequim.
“Inventors make jobs,” Dulin said. “In America, 85 percent of jobs are provided by small businesses.”
He has seen the development of many niche products on the Peninsula, he said.
“Just to give you an idea, we have had 540 patent inquiries from people since we started up in July 2002,” he said.
And that is just what he likes to see, he said before launching into a talk quickly reviewing some of the inventors he has worked with on the Peninsula.
