SEQUIM — The 116th Sequim Irrigation Festival street fair continues today as events lead up to a grand finale this coming weekend.
The festival, planned through May 15, will culminate with the Grand Parade, Logging Show, fireworks and other events Friday and Saturday.
The 21st Arts and Crafts Fair will continue today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Bell Street between Sequim Avenue and Second Street in downtown Sequim.
More than 60 vendors offer handmade crafts.
In honor of Mother’s Day, volunteers will hand out carnations, said Deon Kapetan, chairwoman of the Sequim Irrigation Festival.
Sequim Arts’ 35th annual Fine Arts Exhibit also can be seen today.
The juried show will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Museum & Arts Center in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley, 175 W. Cedar St., Sequim.
On Saturday, Kids Day and the Family Picnic at Carrie Blake Park featured softball games, a bicycle poker run, a barbecue and a close look at a Coast Guard helicopter.
Carnival opens Thursday
The next activity in the festival calendar will be the opening of a four-day carnival at Sequim High School on Thursday.
Hours will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Advance tickets are on sale at the Sequim branches of Sound Community Bank and KeyBank, the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce Visitor Information Center and the KSQM 91.5 FM radio station.
Tickets can be purchased through Wednesday for $20.
After that, the price for the armbands, which provide all-day admission, will go up to $25.

■ Crazy Daze Breakfast at 7 a.m. Friday at SunLand Golf & Country Club.
■ Past Royalty Luncheon on Friday.
■ 23rd annual Logging Show from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in the Blake Avenue lot near Carrie Blake Park, with a strongman competition at 6 p.m. Friday, fireworks at dusk Friday and tractor pull and lawn mower races at 11 a.m. Saturday.
■ Kids Parade at 10 a.m. and Car Cruzz at 11 a.m. Saturday in downtown Sequim.
■ Grand Parade at noon Saturday in downtown Sequim.
■ Car Show ‘n’ Shine at noon Saturday in the Walmart parking lot.
