CLINTON —
Island County sheriff’s detectives say they’ve seized $1,600 in counterfeit $100 bills from a Clinton home.
They’re warning businesses on Whidbey Island there may be more phony bills out there.
Officers say the bills are good quality, with simulated watermarks and security features that look passable at a quick glance.
Local businesses are being urged to get counterfeit detection pens and screen any large bills.
Officers serving a search warrant Thursday also found methamphetamine and marijuana as well as computers, storage media and other equipment used to make the phony money.
