PORT ANGELES — Ten middle school students and their chaperones from Mutsu City, Japan, left today after a visit to Port Angeles.
Stevens Middle School staff, students and host families welcomed the visitors from Port Angeles’ sister city as part of the Junior Ambassadors exchange program with the Port Angeles School District.
The group arrived in Port Angeles on Wednesday.
During their stay, the delegation members spent time with their host families, attended school classes, visited local sites such as the Olympic Game Farm in Sequim and presented culture fairs to Port Angeles students and staff.
Culture fair activities included wearing yukata — a Japanese garment — card games, karate demonstrations, board games and other educational games.
The exchange is part of the Port Angeles School District and Peninsula International Relations Association exchange program.
