The attorney for Ryan Neil Sorensen, who is charged with murdering Port Hadlock businessman Frank M. “Skip” Smith, will ask Jefferson County Superior Court Judge Thomas J. Mahan to delay his client’s arraignment today.
Sorensen, 30, is charged with first-degree murder. He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday at the County Courthouse in Port Townsend. Today’s motion is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the courthouse.
Sorensen was married to Smith’s daughter, Sandra-Kay Smith, from 1996 to 2002.
In a related matter, Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney Juelie Dalzell has filed a motion to amend charging information.
