There were no major surprises — and no Democratic candidate for county commissioner in District 1 — as Jefferson County election filing began on Monday.
Elections officials in the County Auditor’s Office were busy as the five-day filing period opened at 8 a.m.
Lined up at the counter were incumbent County Commissioners Dan Titterness and Glen Huntingford, both Republicans, as well as Dana Roberts, who is seeking re-election as District 1 commissioner from Public Utility District No. 1.
The two announced candidates for Superior Court judge, Joan Best and incumbent Craddock Verser, arrived at the auditor’s office at about the same time Monday to pay their filing fees and receive election information.
