Jefferson: Commissioner sidelined

Unforeseen medical problems have necessitated a leave of absence for Jefferson County Commissioner Wendi Wrinkle of Shine.

Wrinkle — the only Democrat on the three-member county board — said in an e-mailed statement: ” I regret to inform the public that some medical problems are forcing me to take time away from the day-to-day activities on the Board of County Commissioners.

“Fortunately, my condition is not life-threatening, but may require my absence for a period of weeks.”‘

Wrinkle issued an apology for “any inconvenience to the citizens” of her 3rd District and the county at large, but offered no further details about the illness.
