PORT TOWNSEND — The three Jefferson County commissioners, after interviewing five county administrator candidates behind closed doors Tuesday, asked their Seattle-based head-hunting consultant firm to come up with additional information on the candidates for Monday’s commissioners meeting.
“We won’t be able to say anything more until Monday,” said county Commissioner David Sullivan, D-Cape George, late Tuesday afternoon.
The commissioners have declined to release the names and professional backgrounds of the candidates for the county administrator job that could pay as much as $120,000 a year.
John Fischbach, who resigned as county administrator Feb. 15, was making $89,000 a year plus a monthly car allowance of $360.
Criminal background checks have been conducted on each candidate, Sullivan said.
