PORT HADLOCK — Jefferson County officials huddled Tuesday with representatives of the five consulting firms hired to put together a document that will play a major role in shaping the future of Irondale, Port Hadlock and Chimacum.
“This is the largest, non-road-related, infrastructure in county history,” said Randy Kline, the county’s long-range planner who is coordinating development of the capital facilities plan for the Tri-Area urban growth area.
Consultants have until the end of the year to design the document which will bring together such elements as transportation, sewer planning, storm water drainage and urban growth development regulations.
The capital facilities plan is a requirement of the state’s Growth Management Act. Once approved by the county commissioners in late 2004, the document will become part of the county’s Comprehensive Plan.
