PORT TOWNSEND — The second highest-ranking executive in Jefferson County government is set to leave next month after 27 years of service.
Deputy County Administrator Gary Rowe is leaving to become the new Skagit County administrator.
His last day on the job here is Oct. 14.
“I’m excited for the challenge,” said Rowe, 49, who will be top administrator in a county roughly four times more populous than Jefferson County.
Skagit County has a population of approximately 105,000; Jefferson County has approximately 26,000 residents.
