The race for the Jefferson County commissioner seat in District 3 got more crowded Wednesday, with two more candidates filing for placement on the ballot.
Robert “Cougar” Garten, 63, a Democrat from Shine, and Ivan Hjelvik, a Brinnon Republican, threw their hats into the ring during the third day of filing.
They join Democrat Wendi Wrinkle, 45, of Shine and Republican Derek Stacey Thompson, 72, of Center, both of whom filed Monday.
District 3 roughly covers the area from Port Ludlow to Brinnon
The district seat is being vacated by Richard Wojt, D-Port Townsend, after three terms in office.
