An Edmonds man with an extensive background in economic development is expected to be offered the Jefferson County Economic Development Council’s top job when the group’s board of director meets Friday.
Tamer Kirac, 51, was chosen by the council’s selection and executive committees to fill the position that has been filled on an interim basis by Marty Gay since December 2003, when Ann Avary resigned.
“He’s a good guy,” said Lloyd Cahoon, EDC president.
“We checked him out very carefully, and he has a lot of experience and was rated very highly.”
A formal job offer hasn’t been made to Kirac. The offer could come sometime before the board’s Friday meeting, but would be dependent on that group’s approval.
The meeting starts at noon at the Port Townsend Yacht Club, 2503 Washington St.
