Jefferson: Election filings complete; more set Wednesday

Filing for the fall elections ended Friday with 57 candidates filing for offices ranging on elected boards from Port Townsend City Council to fire protection districts.

Three new candidates for the City Council were among those who entered the race Friday, heating up a contest where candidates for the four council positions up for election had previously been unopposed.

A second filing period will open this Wednesday through Friday for eight positions that attracted no candidates.
