SHINE — E. coli bacteria has been found during a routine test of the Bridgehaven community’s water system, and health officials are asking residents there to use bottled or boiled water.
Bridgehaven’s water manager and the state Health Department’s drinking water division are investigating the source of contamination.
Chlorine will be added to the water system, and additional testing will follow.
No illnesses related to the water have been reported.
The boil advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
