PORT HADLOCK — November will be the final month for Jefferson Healthcare hospital’s health education series, Health from A to Z @ the Library.
The free community presentations are from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Jefferson County Library, 620 Cedar Ave.
The final two lectures will be Monday, Nov. 2 and Monday, Nov. 16.
The talks feature presentations by Jefferson Healthcare medical professionals and provide an in-depth look at individual health concerns.
Topics have ranged from weight management and heart health to smoking cessation and breast cancer awareness.
Each lecture is followed by a question-and-answer period with the presenter.
Here are details about the lectures:
■ On Nov. 2, Judy Tordini, a registered nurse and the director of cardiology services at the hospital, will present “Blood Pressure and the Risk to Your Heart.”
She will take blood pressure readings before and after the presentation so her listeners can know their personal heart health numbers.
■ On Nov. 16, Pam Hawley, director of the Jefferson Healthcare Sleep Medicine Center, will present “Snoring and Sleep Apnea — Nuisance or Health Risk?”
She will tell of the impacts of interrupted sleep by snoring or sleep apnea and how to decrease the health risks.
Hawley will distribute a free sleep guide to identify common sleeping disorders and sleep tips on how to help with those disorders.
