PORT TOWNSEND — Incumbent Bob Sokol will seek a third term as Port of Port Townsend commissioner, he announced Friday.
Sokol joins the race for Position 1 with two challengers already in the running: Bill Miller of Port Townsend and former county Commissioner Richard Wojt.
The three-way race will force a primary election in September for voters in the Position 1 district that includes Port Townsend.
The top two vote-getters will go on to the countywide Nov. 4 general election.
In announcing his decision, Sokol said he was proud of his eight-year record as a commissioner and is eager to steer the Port through its current planning efforts.
