PORT TOWNSEND — The man convicted in the 1992 stabbing death of a Quilcene girl during an emotion-filled hearing Friday has been sentenced to 16 years in prison.
Jefferson County Superior Court Judge Tom Majhan sentenced former Quilcene resident Robert Froehlich to the maximum penalty allowed under state sentencing guidelines for murdering 15-year-old Allison Tornensis in 1992 and dumping her body in a nearby river.
“I don’t think it’s enough,” Tornensis’ cousin Riesa Regan said following the hearing. “Allison is gone, and he should be gone forever, too.”
Majhan agreed, but said it’s time for the community to move on.
