PORT TOWNSEND — It takes a community to give birth to a dream. And a little cash doesn’t hurt.
That was the message heard by 100 women from across the Peninsula on Saturday at “Do Your Dream Day,” a seminar that matches women with mentors and means to change their lives.
“Dreams do not happen in isolation,” said Barbara Stanny. “It takes a village to raise a child and it takes a community to give birth to a dream.
“Everytime you get discouraged or scared, everytime that fear comes, get on the phone and call a mentor.”
Stanny, author of Prince Charming Isn’t Coming and Secrets of Six-Figure Women, was the spark that started the “Do Your Dream” idea as a service to women in the community.
