Five Jefferson County high school girls have been announced as candidates for Rhody royalty.
The bright-eyed hopefuls for this year’s Rhododendron Festival crown met the public during a high tea reception at the Ann Starret Mansion on Sunday.
The candidates are Brittany Brown, Shannen Fields, Gwen Guenther, Lorrina Quackenbush and Ashley Van Camp.
The start of a selection process that culminates in the Rhody Festival coronation in March, the private event was the first opportunity for candidates to meet the festival committee.
