Seven more people threw their hats into the political arena Tuesday, the second day of filing for Jefferson County offices on the ballot this fall.
The candidates included four political newcomers — all seeking positions on Jefferson County fire districts — and three incumbents, including two school board members and the conservation district supervisor.
The new entries into the fall election cycle means there will be contested races for seats in Fire District No. 4 (Brinnon) and Fire District No. 5 (Gardiner).
Filing continues through 5 p.m. Friday in the Jefferson County Auditor’s Office, located upstairs in the county courthouse in Port Townsend.
