PORT TOWNSEND — United Good Neighbors of Jefferson County officials are confident they will meet or beat the charitable organization’s fundraising goal this year.
That despite “donor fatigue” resulting from numerous natural disasters worldwide.
Figures last week showed United Good Neighbors at $220,000, nearing the 2005 fundraising goal of $250,000.
“We should do ($250,000), and hopefully go over it a little bit,” Bob Peden, United Good Neighbors executive director, said Tuesday.
The official donation amount will not be tallied until mid-January, he said.
United Good Neighbors’ leaders lowered the agency’s fundraising goal this year to $250,000 after it fell short of a $265,000 goal in 2004.
United Good Neighbors is the primary way county residents direct charitable donations to their neighbors.
