The cable television provider in East Jefferson County and part of Clallam County’s West End is waging a war of words with Seattle’s CBS affiliate, KIRO Channel 7.
Millennium Digital Media and KIRO are quarreling over how much compensation the television station deserves for giving Millennium the right to carry its signal. Such retransmission-rights agreements are customary between local broadcasters and cable operators.
KIRO reported in its Friday evening newscast that Millennium plans to drop the station, but Millennium retaliated in a press statement that it’s the other way around.
No new talks were scheduled as of Sunday.
