The 2005 Tribal Canoe Journey flotilla of 70 craft, from as far away as St. Paul Island, Alaska, 2,000 miles to the north, complete their pilgrimages today with a rendezvous through the morning at the old Rayonier mill site in Port Angeles.
The site is closed to the public.
The canoes will make their formal landings between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m today at Hollywood Beach, organizers said.
No firm arrival times at Hollywood Beach can be set due to changing water and weather conditions. Canoes from other tribes will arrive Tuesday.
The public is invited to watch the welcoming ceremonies, which are filled with ritual and tradition.
The canoes and ceremonies can be viewed from Waterfront Trail, City Pier and from the parking lot area above Hollywood Beach.
