JOYCE — Less than half the ballots have been returned in the Crescent School District’s second attempt to pass a maintenance and operations levy with a little more than a week left before the voting deadline.
Of 1,577 mail ballots issued for the May 20 election, 569 ballots, or 36.08 percent, had been returned as of Friday.
Ballots for the $1.01 million four-year levy were mailed on April 30 and must be returned or postmarked by May 20.
