JOYCE — The Crescent School District has failed to get enough voter support to pass a replacement maintenance and operations levy for the second time this year.
Unofficial ballot tabulations late Tuesday showed the measure failing with only 47.9 percent voter support.
State law requires 60 percent voter support for school levies to pass.
At the end of counting Tuesday, 391 voters supported the $1.01 million levy and 426 opposed it.
Fifty remaining ballots will be counted Friday, along with any late-arriving ballots.
With 869 ballots already returned, the measure needs a minimum of 522 “yes” votes to pass.
